I don’t want to do too much policing as it runs counter to the spirit of a rant. That said, I do expect a modicum of civility in our discussions. Heated arguments I can stomach, but I don’t go in for mudslinging. Heaping scorn on poor language is fine; ad hominem attacks are not. Go ahead and disparage a piece of work for its shoddy writing (or the writer of said piece of work), argue the fine points of English as relentlessly as you want, and call me out on the mistakes I’m bound to make, but don’t call other participants morons or retards, no matter where they put their commas. OK?
